Join Our Team at Ozark Outpost Center

We are a small, blueprint-based training school for high school students and homeschool companions in rural Missouri. We're looking for staff who understand and are committed to the vision—not just filling a job.

We're in a pioneer phase: the campus is student-built, operations are lean, the team is small and close-knit, and the work is meaningful and varied. If you sense the Lord calling you to invest in young people in a small, integrated faith-and-work community, read on.

    What We're Looking For

We want people with a deep commitment to Christ and the Bible as the foundation of all education and work. Familiarity with (or openness to) the Madison model, Studies in Christian Education, or similar blueprint-based approaches is a strong plus.

You should be able to work in a small team, take initiative, and be flexible—this is a startup reality. We need people with a passion for mentoring young people, not just teaching subjects, and a willingness to model hard work, self-supporting principles, and the integration of faith and daily life.

Health consciousness and respect for simple living, plant-based nutrition, and natural remedies as part of lifestyle matter to us. Above all, character and mission fit matter more than credentials alone.

    Principal — Blueprint-Minded Leader

Serve alongside our director in academic and operational leadership, helping implement the blueprint model of Bible-centered, work-integrated education.

    Responsibilities

    • Help implement the blueprint model: Bible-centered, work-education integrated, few well-chosen studies, manual labor as core curriculum, self-supporting principles.
    • Oversee high school academics (Bible, math, language arts, science/A&P) and coordinate with trade instructors and industry leaders.
    • Foster a mentorship culture: older students helping younger ones, peer leadership, and Union Body meetings.
    • Represent the school to families, visitors, and the local community and churches.
    • Teach at least one class or co-lead worship regularly.

    Qualifications

    • Deep commitment to Christ-centered education and the blueprint principles.
    • Experience with small schools, alternative education, classical Christian education, or homeschool co-ops (preferred).
    • Ability to think biblically about education, not just academically.
    • Strong character, integrity, and a willingness to model faith in daily work.
    • Flexible, humble, and ready to roll up sleeves—this is a small team.

Compensation: To be discussed based on role and experience.

Boys Dean & Literature Evangelism Leader

    Mentor. Encourage. Make a Difference.

We're looking for a man of strong faith to walk alongside our high school boys (ages 14–17), mentoring them in character, faith, and literature evangelism. This is more than a job — it's a mission to help young men grow in faith, build character, and make a difference in their communities.

    Key Areas

Mentorship & Guidance — Walk alongside and pour into boys' lives
Literature Evangelism — Equip students to share hope through Christian literature and real conversations
Rural Ministry & Simple Living — Real people, real conversations, eternal impact
Prayer & Spiritual Growth — Lead by example in faith and service
Youth Empowerment — Invest in the next generation
Leadership Development — Help boys grow in character, confidence, and purpose

    Responsibilities

    • Help lead and support the boys in the program, providing guidance, encouragement, and mentorship throughout the week.
    • Lead and mentor students in literature evangelism (canvassing) every Sunday — teaching them to approach homes kindly, share Christian and health literature, and practice their faith in real conversations.
    • Help plan and prepare evangelism training, activities, and resources for the boys.
    • Model personal devotion, prayer, and faith in daily life; teach or co-lead worship as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Strong personal faith in Christ and commitment to Scripture as God's Word.
    • Experience teaching Bible or leading spiritual training (church, Bible study, camp, homeschool, seminary).
    • Understanding of — or openness to learning — literature evangelism in a respectful, non-pushy way.
    • Able to work with high school youth (ages 14–17) and model Christian character.
    • Comfortable with rural, outdoor work and simple living.

Compensation: To be discussed based on role and experience.

    Kitchen Manager & Instructor

Manage daily plant-based meal preparation for ~30–40 people and train students in kitchen skills, nutrition, and hospitality.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage daily meal preparation for approximately 30–40 people on campus and at the Mountain Grove Health-Food Store & Restaurant.
    • Plan menus aligned with the health-reform diet (plant-based, no dairy, caffeine, or chocolate; whole foods and simple nutrition).
    • Train and supervise students in kitchen skills, food safety, healthy cooking, and nutrition education.
    • Oversee food ordering, budgeting, and inventory in coordination with the operations team.
    • Lead kitchen work blocks as part of the integrated curriculum, and teach short classes on nutrition and the eight laws of health.
    • Set the tone of service, hospitality, and character in the kitchen and dining area.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in food preparation, nutrition, or food service management (commercial, institutional, or catering preferred).
    • Commitment to plant-based, whole-food nutrition and health-reform principles.
    • Ability to manage a small team and train students patiently and encouragingly.
    • Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
    • Able to work in a resource-limited startup environment (simple equipment, budget-conscious, creative problem-solving).

Compensation: To be discussed based on role and experience.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your calling.

Our Culture & What We Offer

You can expect a small, close-knit team united by a shared vision and faith. We share daily worship, prayer, and the integration of faith into our work and decisions. You'll have the opportunity to mentor young people and see character formation up close.

The work is practical and varied—this is a startup, so there are no silos and everyone wears multiple hats. We live simply in a rural setting with a strong connection to the outdoors and agriculture. There's a real community and family feeling: students, staff, and families eat together, worship together, and work together.

We want to be honest about the challenges too: startup realities, limited resources, constant adaptation, and physical work. This is for people who are called to mission, not just seeking comfortable employment. Compensation is discussed openly based on the role and experience.
